Returning to us for sale is this spectacularly presented right-hand drive Ferrari F355 Challenge finished in Rosso Corsa. Originally destined for Australia in 1997, this F355 Challenge was shipped to the UK in 1999 by Robin Mortimer, then part of MHT Ferrari, who sold the car to a Mr A. Davies of Wirral, Liverpool. Mr Davies, a racing instructor, routinely drove the car to various race circuits to take part in track days and perform driver coaching sessions. The car accumulated around 23,000 miles during his ownership which concluded in 2010. Changing hands in quick succession over the next several years, this F355 Challenge would form part of an elaborate collection of classic cars between 2015 and 2017. The owner reached out to Furlonger with the request to sell several vehicles, including the F355 Challenge. The car underwent a comprehensive service and cosmetic refresh via our workshop prior to being sold to a gentleman who resided in the West Country. Using the car sparingly during his 5-year ownership period he accumulated just over 1,000 miles. During this period, the car was maintained by Furlonger and a Ferrari main dealer. Furlonger reacquired this Ferrari F355 Challenge in 2023 and sold to its current owner, an international collector who stored the vehicle with us during his time overseas and using it for a handful of driving trips when he returned to the UK in the summer. Now offered for sale, this Ferrari F355 Challenge is an exciting prospect to those seeking the thrills of a highly engaging road car with track focused credentials, and one with extremely low production numbers. Although the F355 Challenge was predominantly built for motorsport (Ferrari Challenge Series), a handful were fortunate to be road registered and have since remained as such, including this example. Chassis #108147 strikes the desirable balance of frequent usability and race-based performance and would be a suitable addition to any collection of supercars or special series Ferraris. Exclusively produced with a manual transmission, the F355 Challenge is arguably the missing piece to any Ferrari collection comprised of lightweight V8 road cars, all of which were produced with a paddle operated F1 gearbox. This car will receive an extensive service and any works required prior to sale.
