Smaller production rate car marques are often owned by or have a larger partner company to help with research & development to enable them to keep pace with competition. Aston Martin have made the shrewd move to do exactly that and what better a partner to pick than the tech-focused German behemoth Mercedes!
Due to this the new vantage features a host of tech under the skin from Mercedes including the same bulletproof 4.0 Twin-Turbo V8 found in the AMG GT series and C63 cars, producing ample levels of power and torque. The infotainment system and many of the electronic systems have also been codeveloped and pinched from the Germans, making for a more reliable and contemporary package. Aston martin have been left in charge of all the bits that we loved such as the elegant yet aggressive body styling, raucous exhaust system and beautifully appointed leather cabin.
